  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 4 cups bread flour

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, for filling, softened
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon

  1. Warm milk and mix with softened butter in a bowl; add eggs and whisk until combined.
  2. In another bowl, combine bread flour, yeast, sugar, and salt; gradually mix into the wet ingredients to form a soft dough.
  3. Knead dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Let the dough rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
  5. For filling, combine softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until smooth.
  6. Roll out risen dough into a rectangle; spread filling evenly and fold multiple times before cutting into strips.
  7. Twist strips into braids and place on a lined baking sheet; let rise again for another 30 minutes.
  8. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C); brush with beaten egg before baking for about 20 minutes or until golden.
