  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup bourbon BBQ sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 sub rolls
  • 8 slices crispy turkey bacon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper until combined.
  3. Form the mixture into uniform meatballs (about 1.5 inches in diameter).
  4. Brown meatballs in olive oil over medium heat until golden on all sides (about 5-7 minutes).
  5. Pour BBQ sauce over brown meatballs and simmer on low for 10 minutes.
  6. Slice sub rolls and toast them in the oven for about 5 minutes until golden.
  7. Assemble by placing meatballs in rolls, topping with sauce and cheese.
  8. Return subs to the oven for another 2-3 minutes until cheese melts.
