  • 5 Tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 Tablespoons cake flour
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 Tablespoons unsalted butter (melted and cooled)
  • 2 1/2 Tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Cream together room temperature butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together cake flour, cornstarch, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Gradually combine with wet ingredients until blended.
  3. Chill the dough for one hour in the refrigerator.
  4. Prepare filling by mixing softened butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, and cake flour until smooth.
  5. Scoop dough into halves; place filling in one half and cover with the other half. Seal edges.
  6. Bake at 350°F for 11-13 minutes until lightly golden. Let cool before icing.
