  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 tsp white granulated sugar
  • 4 cups bread flour
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 6 tbsp brown butter
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2.5 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by mixing warm water and sugar in a bowl; sprinkle yeast on top and let sit until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour and salt; add activated yeast mixture and olive oil, stirring to form a sticky dough.
  3. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 12 hours.
  4. Grease a baking pan with melted butter; transfer dough to pan and let rise for 1.5 to 2 hours.
  5. Prepare brown butter; mix with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  6. Dimple the risen dough deeply; drizzle with cinnamon-butter mixture.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 450°F for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Cool slightly; drizzle with icing before serving.
