  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp flour (or cornstarch/tapioca for gluten-free)
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp freshly grated nutmeg
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (or gluten-free blend)
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar (for topping)
  • ½ cup cold unsalted butter, cubed

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Place the pie shell on a baking sheet.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine sliced apples with granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour (or cornstarch), lemon juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and vanilla. Let sit for 10–15 minutes.
