  • 1/2 Baguette
  • 1 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 5 Onions (thinly sliced)
  • 300 g Cavatappi Macaroni
  • 1/2 cup Beef Broth
  • 3 cups Heavy Cream
  • 1 cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • 1 tbsp Flour + 3 tbsp Water (for béchamel)
  • Fresh Parsley (chopped)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Oregano

Instructions

  1. Slice onions and sauté them slowly over medium heat with olive oil for about 30–40 minutes until caramelized.
  2. Prepare the béchamel by melting butter in the skillet, whisking in flour, and gradually adding heavy cream until thickened.
  3. Stir in two-thirds of the caramelized onions into the béchamel; season well and combine with cooked cavatappi.
  4. Transfer to a baking dish, top with remaining onions and breadcrumbs.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 10–15 minutes until golden brown.
