  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup semolina flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup honey, warmed
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Layer the phyllo sheets in the dish, brushing each with melted butter until seven sheets are stacked.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together semolina flour, eggs, sugar, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth. Pour over the phyllo base.
  4. Add the final sheet of phyllo on top and brush with butter. Lightly score it for steam release.
  5. Bake for 40–45 minutes until golden brown. Cool for 10 minutes before slicing.
