  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 1/2 cups very hot water

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, milk, melted butter (or oil), and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Combine wet ingredients with dry ingredients to form a thick batter; pour into an 8-inch casserole dish.
  5. Mix granulated sugar, brown sugar, and chopped pecans; sprinkle over the batter.
  6. Carefully pour very hot water over the dish without stirring.
