  • 5 medium apples, sliced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 and 1/2 cups salted butter, melted
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • Salted caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan with nonstick spray and parchment paper.
  2. Toss apple slices with lemon juice, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, cloves, and salt in a bowl.
  3. In another bowl, mix melted butter with remaining crust ingredients until combined.
  4. Press most of the crust mixture into the pan and layer the apple filling on top. Sprinkle reserved crust mixture over the apples.
  5. Bake for 38 to 45 minutes until golden brown. Cool for 1-2 hours before slicing.
  6. Prepare the salted caramel sauce while baking; drizzle over bars before serving.
