  • 6 apples
  • ½ tsp grated nutmeg
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp white sugar
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup porridge oats
  • 125 g butter (cold)
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180C/375F.
  2. Peel, core, and chop the apples into bite-sized pieces. Place them in a baking dish and mix with flour, sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.
  3. In another bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, and cold butter. Rub together until crumbly.
  4. Spread the crumble topping evenly over the apple mixture.
  5. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until golden and bubbly.
  6. Let it cool slightly before serving warm.
