  • 2 tsp loose-leaf smoky black tea or 2 tea bags

  • 45 black peppercorns
  • 3 whole cloves
  • 3 green cardamom pods
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 12 tablespoons brown sugar (to taste)
  • Optional: 1 star anise

Instructions

  1. In a small pot, bring water to a boil. Add black peppercorns, cloves, cardamom pods, and cinnamon stick. Simmer for about 5 minutes to release the spices' aromas.
  2. Add smoky black tea and steep for 3-4 minutes to enhance the flavor.
  3. Stir in milk and brown sugar; simmer for another 3-4 minutes until well combined.
