- 2 Black tea bags or 1 tbsp loose leaf black tea
- 1 Apple, thinly sliced (or 1/4 cup dried apple)
- 2 Cinnamon sticks
- 1/4 Ground nutmeg
- 1 Star anise pod (optional)
- Maple syrup (optional)
- In a saucepan, combine the apple slices, cinnamon sticks, nutmeg, and star anise pod with boiling water. Reduce heat and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
- Add the black tea bags or loose leaf tea to the saucepan and steep for an additional 3-5 minutes based on your desired strength.
- Remove tea bags or strain out the loose tea along with the apple slices and spices.
- Sweeten to taste with maple syrup if desired, stir well, and serve warm.
