  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 2 green onions (minced)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (or chickpea flour)
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup grapeseed oil (for frying)
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tsp sea salt

Instructions

  1. Drain and pat dry chickpeas, then mash in a large bowl until coarse.
  2. Add cumin, black pepper, salt, green onions, garlic, flour, and egg; mix until combined.
  3. Heat grapeseed oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Form patties with about three tablespoons of mixture each; fry for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown.
  5. For the yogurt sauce: combine yogurt, lemon juice, dill, garlic, and salt; mix well and chill.
  6. Serve patties warm with yogurt sauce for dipping.
